So. Many. Epic. Threads. Perusing the Slack this month felt like falling into a gold mind. There were so many awesome, thought-proving convos that I couldn’t choose just one to highlight. A few favorites below:
The curious case of $ / min instead of $ / kwh at EV chargers in states across the US, and of course franchise rights pops up
The Pandora’s Box of individual responsibility to the grid, outside of any financial compensation mechanism (aka, is grid altruism real?)
True or false: Is it illegal to have a generating asset not connected to the grid? The Task Force weighs in, on everything from utility overreach to building codes and more

What we’re reading + listening to
ICYMI, The New York Times published a profile on the emergence of the Decarb Bro, both on Twitter and in the physical world. The piece highlights the broader strokes of the clean energy abundance movement and platforms the perspectives of non-doomer climate-caring people for what feels like the first time in the mainstream media. Check out the article if you haven’t yet.
However, the NYTimes piece was not without it’s shortcomings. Among several gaps and confusing conflations, the monthly New York meetup was referenced with no clear link back to the DER Task Force.
