As we wrap up an eventful 2021, we wanted to thank everyone in the DER Task Force for the engaging conversations, community contributions, friendship and learning from this year. This community wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of you! Enjoy the shorter newsletter this month, and wishing you all a successful and healthy 2022.
Announcements + Updates
We successfully hosted our first hybrid event in the form of an end-of-year holiday party. We had groups in New York and the Bay Area gather in-person, plus a virtual group, and we all convened on Zoom to review what the community accomplished in 2021 and shared a look forward to 2022! Some snaps from the event included below (h/t to Austin Perea!)
On the policy front, we are close to finalizing our community’s first policy whitepaper and DER Bill of Rights. We plan to use these documents as a launching-off point for future policy work, including any comments we submit with the DER Task Force name. Beyond the whitepaper, a subset of community members pulled together an emergency working group to respond to the NEM 3.0 decision released by the California PUC earlier this month.
